HydraTherm Tackles Infection Prevention

HydraTherm Tackles Infection Prevention

Have you dealt with the JCAHO guidelines that have been put in place for moist heat therapy products? Cross contamination is a major undertaking in hospital settings today and heat therapy products have been heavily scrutinized. JCAHO adheres to manufacturer's guidelines on cleaning or to a facility's AEM program. With an AEM program in place, specific documentation must be maintained and validated.

What makes HydraTherm different than traditional moist heat therapy heating units and set the standard for infection prevention in thermotherapy?

  • Composite tub prevents the formation of rust

  • Tank cleaning required only 2 times per year(competitive heating units require 2 times / month, which busy hospitals and clinics have difficulty adhering to)

  • Digital thermostat reading on front panel allows for easy temperature reading and documentation

  • High water temperature settings of 165º F are not required to deter mold growth when the HydraTherm is used in conjunction with Richmar HydraHeat hot packs.

Two Options Now Available for Hot Pack Storage

HydraTherm Divider System

The divider system is made of a composite material that functions like a vertical "drawer" with a handle above the water line to pull the rack up for easy hot pack retrieval. No need for tongs! Each system also comes with 3 clip-on shelves to adjust the height when varying sizes of hot packs are utilized in the HydraTherm.

  • REF HT-R12-S HydraTherm Standard without divider system or packs

  • REF HT-R12-D HydraTherm Deluxe without divider system or packs

  • REF HT-R12-DIV Optional divider system

Traditional Rack System

A new, conventional rack system is now available. Made of the same composite material as the dividers, it sits lower in the tank and tongs are utilized for hotpack removal. It functions in the same capacity as conventional stainless steel racks, but with three clip-on shelves included. This is a good option for high volume clinics or athletic training rooms where additional pack stacking occurs.

  • REF HT-R12-SR HydraTherm Standard with rack system

  • REF HT-R12-DR HydraTherm Deluxe with rack system

  • REF HT-R12-RCK Optional rack system

New Water Tight Seal

A new, durable gasket between the tub and the glass lid creates a true basin to prevent leakage and heat loss. It is made of a high quality EPDM sponge rubber and PVC that provides a water tight seal around the tank.

Did you know?

Any brand or type of hotpacks can be used in the HydraTherm heating unit. Richmar HydraHeat packs are highly recommended for their durability and bacteria resistant outer material, but traditional clay packs can be used so long as the water temperature in the HydraTherm tank is kept at a minimum of 165° F (per manufacturer's recommendation).
